A petition signed by 42 persons was presented to Parryville Borough Council objecting to the councilmen voting themselves salaries of $10 a month. Lamar Houser, newly appointed councilman, said he will need signatures of at least half of the borough's taxpayers before being influenced by the petition. "We just can't go by 42 out of 324," he said. Councilmen previously served without pay, but starting next month they will receive $10 a month.
