Packer Twp. business aids fire companies

Matthew Dulcey, owner and operator of Vogel Farm Spring Water, Packer Township, has come to the aid of both Weatherly Area and Beaver Meadows Fire Departments. Tom J. Gerhard, chairman of the Packer Township Supervisors recently approached Dulcey regarding some additional water supply from his business in emergencies for both communities. Dulcey has agreed to supply additional water supplies from his local business to help protect and fight fires in their respective communities. Packer currently has two dry hydrants located throughout the township. Vogel Farm Spring Water has agreed and granted permission for both fire departments to utilize water from the storage tank to fill water buffalos at no cost. Vogel Farm was originally owned by Wallace and Bessie Gerhard, and farmed by Kenneth Vogel. After their passing the land was inherited by their son, Mark Gerhard. The property was purchased by Dulcey in May 2002. Pictured are, from left, William Swinesburg, Grover Gerhard, Tom J. Gerhard, Packer Twp.
