Philadelphia man sought in Monroe

A Philadelphia man is being sought by law enforcement officials in Monroe County for theft of a vehicle and credit card.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Michael J. Romano, 23, is being sought for an incident that occurred on Dec. 3. According to police Romano was staying at a residence along Littly Billy Lane, in Tobyhanna, when he allegedly stole the credit card and vehicle of Linda Johnson, 64, of Tobyhanna.

Romano was observed on video surveillance at the Penn Mart store along SR196 using the credit card and driving the vehicle of Johnson, police said. The vehicle was recovered on Dec. 7 by Monroe Township police in Williamstown, N.J.

Romano is facing multiple charges related to thefts and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Romano is asked to call police at (570) 895-2400.
