Tamaqua Area High School senior running back Grif Griffiths has been named of the winner of this year's Captain Jeffrey Bnosky 3-D Award.

The award is presented by Joe Bnosky, Hometown, in memory of his son. Captain Jeffrey Bnosky was a 1983 graduate of Tamaqua High who was a member of the Blue Raiders football and track and field teams. Captain Bnosky died on Jan. 13, 1991 while serving in with Desert Storm/Desert Shield.

The award represents Desire, Determination and Dedication. The winners' names are engraved on a plaque on display at the high school.

Griffiths was also award the TAHS Top Offensive Back Award. He finished his career with 2,754 rushing yards, second on the Raiders' all-time list.
