Ready for trial, 17 defendants change minds and plead guilty
A contractor pleaded guilty in Schuylkill County court to failing to honor a contract for work in Barnesville. He was one of 17 people who chose to enter general pleas to the criminal charges filed against them when their cases were called for trial. Their pleas were accepted by President Judge William E. Baldwin who deferred sentences to a later date.
Edward Wallo Jr., 27, Dallas, Luzerne County, pleaded guilty to theft by deception by successfully bidding on a demolition job at the residence of James Metger Jr., 19 Bernhard Drive, Barnesville, but failed to complete the job as cited b Rush Township Cpl. Duane Frederick.
Derek Kotsko, 39, Hazleton, pleaded guilty to confinement of three pit bulls on premises at 142 E. Washington St., McAdoo, as cited by McAdoo Patrolman Anthony Divirgillo.
Louis John Bova, 36, Mahanoy City, pleaded guilty to being involved in an accident causing damage to attended vehicle or property and failing to have a driver's license and to summary charges. He was cited by Shenandoah Patrolman Jason Hayes. Bova also pleaded guilty to possession and delivery of drugs in Mahanoy City as cited by Mahanoy City Cpl. Michael Dissinger.
Larry James Snyder, 65, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) and summary charges filed by Trooper Mark Ruscavage. Snyder also pleaded guilty to a second DUI brought by Butler Township Patrolman Raymond Horan.
Christopher James Somereve, 32, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to DUI, driving while operating privileges were suspended and summary charges brought by Pottsville Patrolman Richard Pugh. Ramona Diaz-Cruz, 41, Reading, pleaded guilty to retail theft from Walmart Store in Saint Clair of baby formula valued $569 which she took back to Reading to sell.
Keith Walter Lash Jr., 47, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to DUI and being involved in an accident striking a roadway sign as charged by Pottsville Cpl. Dennis Wiederhold. Lash also pleaded guilty to making a false report to police as charged by Pottsville Patrolman James Englert.
Richard Robert Wagner, 58, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to simple assault, criminal attempt to commit simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief and reckless driving brought by Pottsville Cp. Francis Lynagh.
Gregory John Williams, 38, Ashland, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass on property at 229 S. Spencer St., West Mahanoy Township, brought by Trooper Brian Walters.
Roderick Seymour, 35, Nuremberg, North Union Township, pleaded guilty to DUI and summary charges brought by McAdoo Patrolman Alfred Walsh.
Molly Jo Jenkins, Tower City, pleaded guilty to theft by deception by passing counterfeit bills to obtain merchandise in Walmart Store in Saint Clair as charged by Patrolman Joseph J. Leskin.
Stephen Francis Holmes, 38, Shenandoah, pleaded guilty to simple assault on Barbara Holmes, as charged by Patrolman Shenandoah George Carado.
