A Brockton man has been cited by Tamaqua police following a traffic stop on Dec. 5.

Officers were on patrol when they observed a black vehicle sliding to a stop as it traveled on South Railroad Street at 3:20 a.m. When the vehicle turned right on to Broad Street, the driver accelerated rapidly. Officers followed the vehicle for a short distance then initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Travis Comisac, exhibited signs of intoxication. He was given, and failed, field sobriety tests, then transported to the Pottsville Hospital for blood tests.Charges are pending the results of the blood tests.
