The next meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers will be on Monday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hall in Summit Hill. Members celebrating birthdays in September, October, November and December will be honored.
Special guests will be students from OLOAA who will provide musical entertainment for the members beginning at 1:30 p.m.
If enough interest in shown bingo will be played.
Food pantry at Meed's
The monthly distribution of food at the Nesquehoning branch of Shepherd House will take place at the Meed's Methodist Church on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 1-3:30 p.m.
The Senior Boxes will be given out on Friday, Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Members of the Summit Hill Lions Club will hold their annual Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m. at Macaluso's at the Lantern, Nesquehoning.
The guest for the evening will be Bill Moyer, the new president of St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. The club will make its annual donation to the "St Luke's, Committed to Caring Campaign."
Reservations are required before Monday, Dec. 13. For more information, contact club president, Dr. Kenneth Vermillion.
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will sponsor a bloodmobile visit for the Miller-Keystone Blood Center on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
The event will take place in the church hall from 2-7 p.m. A goal of 35 units has been set.
Miller-Keystone is the only blood supplier to our local hospitals Blue Mountain Health System Lehighton and Palmerton, and the St. Luke Hospital and Health Network (Miner's Memorial, Coaldale).
Persons interested in donating are asked to contact the church office, (570) 645-2664, to reserve a donor time.
The Summit Hill Heritage Center, 1 W. Hazard St., is requesting new members and volunteers. The center houses the Summit Hill Food Pantry and promotes entertainment, educational, cultural and social activities for the family.

The students in Our Lady of the Angels Academy band, Lansford, will present a Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 10, at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford.
Family, friends and guests are invited to attend.
To entertain seniors
Members of the Panther Valley Golden Age Club will be entertained by students from Our Lady of the Angels, Academy, Lansford, at their next meeting on Monday, Dec. 13.
The session will take place at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church hall, Summit Hill. Tom Dowd, a member of the faculty, directs the group.
