Try a shorter hairdo and give your ponytail to a cancer patient
If you have a long ponytail and want to try a shorter hairdo after the holidays, now is the time to think about making a change and feeling good about it.
Courtney Mease of Lehighton Area High School and Salon Salvatore Christian, 531 North St., Jim Thorpe, have partnered to host the "Kindest Cut of All" hair cutting event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Salon Salvatore Christian. After your cut, your donated ponytail will be transformed into free high-quality wigs for women undergoing cancer treatments.
For more information about this event, contact Mease at (484) 629-4508 or (610) 377-3355 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org (put beautiful lengths in subject line) to sign up.
To make the most durable, beautiful wigs possible, donated hair must be a minimum of eight inches and have no more than a few strands of gray. Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses or semi-permanent dyes, but cannot have been bleached, permanently colored or chemically treated. Wavy/curly texture is fine and can be straightened to measure.
Those wishing to donate should have their hair freshly washed, completely dry and free from any styling projects.
"Join us as we donate our ponytails to Pantene Beautiful Lengths to help support a woman during the greatest fight of her life," said Mease.
