Attempted break-in, theft probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating an attempted burglary, theft and criminal mischief incident.

The attempted break-in occurred at the Top City, located at 500 SR61, in Orwigsburg. Someone attempted to break in via a rear window but was not successful. The incident occurred sometime overnight of Aug. 25-26.

Sherri Brown, 40, of 32 Meadow View Rd., in Pine Grove, Washington Township, reported someone took her cell phone out of a box at a yard sale. The incident was reported at 5:55 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27.

Rodney Troup, 57, of Ashland, reported someone threw a rock through the windshield of his 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis while parked along the north shoulder of Deep Creek Rd., west of Valley Rd., in Hegins Township. The incident was reported at 3 a.m. on Friday.
