Four area residents given probation sentences

Four area people who pleaded guilty Thursday in the Schuylkill County Court to criminal charges drew probation sentences from Judge John E. Domalakes.

Christopher William Weston, 28, of 221 West High Street, Coaldale, pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal conspiracy and was placed on probation for 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA (Criminal Justice Enhancement Account), pay a $50 monthly fee for each month on probation and perform 20 hours of community service and pay costs of prosecution. He was cited by Patrolman Matthew Bynon, Tamaqua Police, and charged last November 19 agreed with an accomplice to enter an apartment in Hegarty Towers, 101 Pine Street, to remove personal property.David Allen Smith, 51, of 34 Ball Diamond Road, Barnesville, pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and was placed on probation for 13 months, pay $100 to SAE (Substance Abuse Education) fund, $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee and court costs. Smith was cited by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Rush Township Police, when stopped last February 14 on Pine Creek Drive in Barnesville.Lisa Ketchledge, 47, of 141 Hazle Street, Delano, pleaded guilty to retail theft of merchandise from Sears Store, Schuylkill Mall and criminal conspiracy and was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and court costs.Joseph A. Cheehan, 41, of 322 West Ludlow Street, Summit Hill, pleaded guilty to assaulting Joyce McHugh, Coaldale, and was placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA and a $50 monthly probation fee, court costs and make restitution of $137.60 to victim. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia drew a sentence of 12 months on probation to run concurrent with the assault charge and on two summary charges, involved in accident with a parked vehicle was fined $300 and on a careless driving charge fined $25 plus $100 in costs. Cheehan was cited by Patrolman Charles Blesse, Coaldale Police.Seven other people entered guilty pleas to criminal charges and were sentenced by Judge Domalakes.Charles Raymond Conti, 37, Shenandoah, pleaded guilty to two counts of retail theft and was sentenced to serve nine months to 23 months in the Schuylkill County Prison, pay $100 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, $100 to district attorney's office for bench warrant fee and pay court costs. He reports to the prison on Monday at 5 p.m. to begin serving his sentence. He committed the theft from Boyer's IGA Store, Shenandoah, and Lowe's Store, Fairlane Village Mall.Jessica Danouski, 24, Minersville, pleaded guilty to a charges of selling illegal drugs from her home and possession of drug paraphernalia, received credit for serving 36 days in prison and was released on parole for 23 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation and on a charge of using an identification card of Kristian Wierzalis, Shenandoah, a cousin and theft of service by using the ID card to gain medical service at Reading Hospital was given a concurrent sentence of 12 months on probation but must make restitution of $595.02 to the victim.Clarence Walter Donton, III, 31, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to unlawfully restraining and assaulting his wife, Jennifer Donton at her home at 26 Village Drive, Pine Grove Township. He received credit for serving 19 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 18 months, pay a fine of $100, pay $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee and costs of prosecution.Brenda J. Nauman, 50, Pine Grove, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy to obtain illegal drugs and was sentenced to serve 23 months on probation, pay $200 to SAE fund, $100 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, court costs and make restitution of $226 to Harrisburg Regional Lab.David Alvin Weikel, 39, Sacramento Village, Hubley Township, pleaded guilty to four counts each of defrauding secured creditors and fraud in insolvency and was sentenced to serve 23 months on probation, pay $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, court costs and make restitution in sum of $6,023 to Gratz National Bank, Valley View Village, Hegins Township. He was cited by Trooper Bernard Spece, Jr. whose police report Weikel received a loan of $36,698.83 from the bank and used seven cars as collateral and when he defaulted on the loan the bank could seize only three cars as the other four were sold.Jeffrey A. Ziolko, 32, Ringtown, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison. He reports Monday at 9 a.m. to start his sentence. He also must pay a fine of $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 Catastrophe fund, a $50 monthly probation fee, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center and his driver's license is suspended 12 months. On a charge of failing to carry car insurance was fined $300 plus $50 costs.David Craig Zimmerman, 29, Shenandoah, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and was placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program for six months with the first 40 days under house arrest under electronic surveillance and pay a $12 daily fee, followed by 50 days under strict probation followed by three months on regular probation, pay a fine of $750, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, a $50 monthly supervision fee, attend the alcohol highway safety school, undergo outpatient counseling, perform 10 hours community service. His driver's license is suspended 12 months and he must install an ignition interlock on his car for 12 months after license restored.
