Family Fun Day at Bungalow to benefit Tamaqua Relay for Life
A Family Fun Day is planned for Tamaqua's Bungalow Park this weekend to benefit the fight against cancer.
Freddy's Pub of Five Points in Tamaqua is hosting the event this Sunday, Aug. 29 from 2-8 p.m., according to Jennifer Miller, a committee member for the Tamaqua Area Relay For Life, the annual lap-walking event that raises funds for the Carbon-Tamaqua Unit of the American Cancer Society.
Sunday is also the final day that the Howard Buehler Memorial Pool at the Bungalow will be open for the season.
"We will be having carnival games, a drawing, giveaways, bingo, a dunk tank, a Moon bounce, food, and live entertainment." said Miller.
A DJ will provide music from 2-4 p.m. and Lord Pistachio, a live band from Lansdale, Pa., will perform from 4-8 p.m.
Lord Pistachio is a three-piece band that originated eight years ago and includes Matt Fredrick on guitar and vocals, Bob Wynne on bass and Dom Calamia on drums. The band plays mostly classic rock such as Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, The Doors, The Black Keys, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Lord Pistachio plays every Friday night from 9:30 p.m.-1am at Freddy's Pub.
