A Lehighton man was hurt in a one-car crash and fire in Summit Hill at about 5:15 p.m. Friday at 387 East White Bear Drive (Lentz Trail).

The driver, Carlos Villanueva, 28, of 220 Bankway Street, Lehighton, was taken by Lansford Ambulance to St. Luke's Miner's Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale, for treatment.

The driver was out of the vehicle when police arrived and a Good Samaritan was applying compression to the cuts on his legs, police said.

The vehicle, a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville, was on fire and the pole was down, with wires down across the road.

Lentz Trail was reopened about 7:50 p.m. The crash is still under investigation, police said.
