Carbon County Art League hosts annual event, introduces officers

The Carbon County Art League held its annual Summer Outdoor Supper recently at the pavilion at Bear Creek Lake in Jim Thorpe.

Some of the members chose to arrive early to draw and paint in an outdoor setting by the lake.During the event, a new interim board of directors was introduced. They include John Stoj, president; Cula Andrulerich, vice president; Penny Allison, treasurer; and Theresa Quinn, secretary.The CCAL has also recently announced several upcoming events. An exhibit of CCAL members work will be on display at the Carbon County Special Olympics Benefit Horse Show, beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5 (rain date of Sept. 6) at the Getz farm, Route 534, one mile west of Route 903 in Albrightsville.On Wednesday, Sept. 8, the CCAL will hold it's monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the

U.C.C. Church hall, Fourth and Center streets in Jim Thorpe. The meeting will feature a presentation by celebrated artist Mary Kocher, on "Art Interpretation." CCALPA@verizon.net.The CCAL is a group of artists some professional and others recreational including crafters, weavers, photographers, painters, printers, designers, sculptors, etc., as well as those who just love art. Members enjoy the pleasure of making and appreciating art.They exhibit their work in gallery settings, take trips to museums and galleries; have guest artists and demonstrations at monthly meetings.
