Summit Hill

Food distribution

The Summit Hill Food Pantry distributes food to the needy in the community on a monthly basis, with the deliveries usually taking place on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The Summit Hill Lions Club has taken on the task of assisting the pantry with its distributions. Boxes are usually packed on a Thursday, beginning at 9 a.m. The Second Harvest truck delivery of commodities (which needs to be unloaded) usually takes place on the last Thursday of the month. Lions Club members are reminded of this service project. They can contact President Kenneth Vermillion for additional information on helping with the duties.

For information about the Summit Hill Food Pantry, call Rose Marie Armon, (570) 645-3604 or Sandra Hill, 645-4617.

Services sought

St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, is seeking the services of individuals to fill various board positions. Openings exist for the parish council and finance committee, Our Lady of the Angels Academy school board and the OLOAA finance committee. The only requirement is a desire to perpetuate the Catholic school. It is not necessary that those serving in the school capacities have a child at OLOAA.

Anyone interested in the positions is asked to contact the Rev. James Burdess, pastor.
