Poker run will raise funds for new fire truck in Franklin

A Poker Run will be held Saturday, Aug. 21 to raise funds for a new fire truck for Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company.

All motorcycles, classic cars, hot rods and other vehicles, including the family car, are welcome to participate in this event. Registration will be held at Franklin Township Fire Company, 2440 Fairyland Road, Lehighton, PA from 10 a.m. to noon. There is a registration fee for each driver and passenger. All participants will receive a hot dog and beverage at the end of the ride.

Prizes will be awarded for the top three hands and the worst hand.

The 60-mile run will begin at the fire department, travel through Carbon and Schuylkill County, and return to the fire department.

The fire department's air-conditioned hall will be open all day for food, door prizes and other activities. After the poker run, Final Justice will provide entertainment with oldies and country music and beer will be available.
