Valley will play for league title

The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission summer volleyball championship will take place on Thursday at 6 p.m. Top seed Valley Athletic Supply will face the winner of the Sandstorm, Volleyball Cronies match, that will resume Thursday at 5:30 p.m., as the two could not complete the match due to darkness. The best of five series is tied 2-2, and the final game will be played to 15.


VA-Pup N' Suds

Valley Athletic Supply defeated Pup N' Suds in a best of five series 3-1. The scores of the match were 28-26, 27-25, 21-25, 25-20. TJ O'Connor led Valley Athletic with 12 service points, and Jason Boris had 11 service points. Valley Athletic was down 20-10 in the second game, and used a big rally led by O'Connor to come back and win that game.

Pup N' Suds was led by Tommy Caggianno's 13 service points, and Cailin McCullion had nine service points.


The the best of five match between Sandstorm and Volleyball Cronies is tied 2-2. The final game of the series will be played Thursday before the championship game at 6:00 p.m. Volleyball Cronies took the first game, and the scores were 26-24, 18-25, 25-21, 16-25. Abby Owsinski has 17 service points for Volleyball Cronies, and Chad Fritzinger has 12 service points.

Mark Streisal is leading Sandstorm with 16 service points and Christa Mantz has 14 service points.
