Garden club news

The South Schuylkill Garden Club will meet Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m., at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Dock Street, Schuylkill Haven. Guest speaker will be Ken from Trail gardens, who will share his knowledge about which plants thrive in Schuylkill County. He will also share tips on ways to properly maintain and propagate such plants.

New members are always welcome.

The South Schuylkill Garden Club is a member of District II/III of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania and the National Garden Clubs Inc. For more information, contact president Carol Haldeman at (570) 345-2424.

St. John UCC

The Rev. Kevin Duffy Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. Nursery care is available during the service.

The weekly service is broadcast on radio station WLSH, AM1410, at 11:30 a.m. Sundays.

On Monday, the Spiritual Council will meet at 7:30 p.m.

Zion Lewistown

The Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.

The Youth Group (TAG) will meet Friday, from 7-10 p.m., at the youth buildingin McKeansburg.

The Consisoru will meet next Thursday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m.

Calvary UM

Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church continues holding its services and events at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Rd. The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at this Sunday's 10:25 a.m. worship service. Special music will be presented by Jazmine Goho. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.

Also Sunday, an evening of praise, worship and Bible Study will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Good News Club will hold a day camp for children from Aug. 16-20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. To register, call (570) 739-4425.
