The words "wide load" would have been a misnomer for the oversize load that slowly crawled its way through the "S" curves in downtown Jim Thorpe on Wednesday afternoon. While it may have been wide, "monster load" may have been a more fitting description of the articulated vehicle hauling a generator to a power plant in Hunlock Creek on the east branch of the Susquehanna River. The load was estimated to be 150 feet long, or about half the length of a football field.
