A young woman was injured early Saturday morning when involved in a single car crash along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township. The crash occurred at 5 a.m. as the motorist was apparently traveling through a number of curves. She apparently failed to negotiate the last curve with her car crossing the roadway and impacting with a utility pole along the east berm. She was extricated from the wreckage by members of the Penn Forest Fire Company and Lehighton paramedics. The victim was flown via Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Penn Forest fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
