Residents are eligible to apply for rebates

Published April 30. 2010 05:00PM

The Department of Environmental Protection has announced that residents of Pennsylvania are now eligible to apply for the PA Home Equipment Rebate Program. This rebate is a result of funding provided to DEP through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Pennsylvania residents may reserve a rebate by visiting, or by calling (877) 592-2061.

Once a reservation is made, consumers will have 30 days to submit the necessary paperwork documenting purchase and installation before a rebate check is mailed to the consumer.

Rebates of between $100 and $500 to residents are for the purchase of new Energy Star-rated non-electric residential hot water heaters, furnaces, and boilers.

To learn more about the Recovery Act you can visit the federal government's official Recovery website at or Pennsylvania's official Recovery website at

DEP estimates that this program could benefit as many as 33,000 Pennsylvanians.
