Marian High School students place at FBLA state competition
Twenty-seven Marian FBLA Chapter members attended the 59th Annual State Leadership Conference April 12-14 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, Hershey, Pa.
Members competed in various areas participating in both written objective testing and performance events. Approximately 3,800 people were in attendance.
Twelve of the students were awarded and recognized on stage for their excellence.
The Parliamentary Procedure team of David Paul, Michael Legath, Chelsea Sheehan, Michelle McNulty and Lauren McNulty began the competition with a written test and scored high enough to move on to the performance segment of their event. They placed 10th overall.
The Banking and Financial Systems team of Alexander Garber, Michael Stauffer, and Vincent Fital also began the competition with a written test and advanced to the performance event where they placed fifth.
The Desktop Publishing team of Rachel Krajcirik and Christine Valente began with a school site test that required completion of several publications designed by the students, followed by a written test at the state conference. They were presented a seventh place award in this event.
Individual events were awarded to Victoria Vadyak, second place, for the presentation of her self composed speech in the event Public Speaking II and Samantha Faust, second place, for the excellence in the completion of a written test in the event of Introduction to Business Communication.
