STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania man accused of killing a man and burning his body has waived his preliminary hearing, sending the charges against him to county court.

Forty-five-year-old Edwin Kelly of Scotrun is charged with homicide, conspiracy, aggravated assault and abuse of a corpse in the October 2005 murder of 42-year-old David McEntire of Kunketown.

Authorities in Monroe County allege that Kelly and two other men killed McEntire in the Poconos and tried to burn his body in Kelly's back yard but eventually dumped it. Police said they believed that the victim had stolen money from them. McEntire was last seen in Polk Township on Oct. 8, 2005, and his remains have not been found.

Kelly has been held in the county prison since his arrest in mid-February. The other two men are still at large.
