Linda's Country Gap Inne now a catering service

Published April 29. 2010 05:00PM

They may have sold their bar and restaurant, but they're still in business.

As a result, it's goodbye Linda's Country Gap Inne, hello Linda's Country Catering.

Linda Stokes, who previously owned Linda's Country Gap Inne for 11 years, is now in charge of her own catering business located on the outskirts of Palmerton.

"This is just for people to know that I haven't dropped off the face of the earth," Stokes said. "Linda's isn't gone; I still offer everything I did before."

That means customers can still purchase the same popular clams, baked goods and homemade pierogies made famous by Stokes.

"Nothing has changed," she said. "Our clams are still the best in the area, farm raised, tumbled and purged for a pure white shell and no sand."

Stokes said her catering venture is ServSafe and HACCP certified, and added that she has sold clams and seafood for over 10 years.

In addition, she said cheesecakes will still be available in all 22 flavors. In time, Stokes said a buffet breakfast will likely be held on a monthly basis.

For those who want their guests to enjoy a quality home cooked meal at their next party picnic or special occasion without the hassle or clean up, then Stokes said her catering business is for them.

Above all else, Stokes said her business will be sure to cater to its customers needs, and will continue to give the traditional holiday meals away from time to time.

"It's something that's been bred in me; it's always been about family and about helping people," she said. "When you help someone who's down and out, it makes them feel better about themselves."

Stokes, who has been known to hold various benefit dinners at her restaurant, said she will continue to hold cancer benefits in time.
