For the 40 women who attended the Administrative Assistant Luncheon on Wednesday, sponsored by the Lehighton Area Council of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, it was a pleasant interlude between morning and afternoon job responsibilities.
The event was held at Flagstaff Ballroom, Jim Thorpe.
As they dined on burgers and chicken salad, the women caught up on the latest fashions available at Twice Is Nice, an upscale boutique consignment shop specializing in nearly new and new "better quality" women's clothing and accessories, located at 450 Interchange Rd., Lehighton. The shop is in the same building as "All Lit Up."
Judy Ardella, owner and organizer of the annual luncheon, offered items from Twice Is Nice for the models to wear. At Twice Is Nice, you'll see the latest fashions, purses and wallets, scarves, evening wear and shoes that are selling at 50 to 70 percent off the prices found in retail stores.
Ardella said it was the perfect opportunity for the women attending the event to see how stylish and polished people can be by shopping locally. The store is chock full of jeans, faux fur and dressy or career clothes. A variety of each category was worn by models Sheila Knappenberger, Linda Benner, Lisa Everett and Marj Federanich.
"Someone appreciates you," noted Marie Johns, moderator of the luncheon.
"I know how much I appreciate our administrative assistant at the station."
Johns is a news anchor on Blue Ridge TV-13 Eyewatch News.
Johns introduced the models and described the fashions they wore. As the models emerged, those attending the event sat back and enjoyed the show.
From the moment Benner emerged from the dressing room wearing peach pants and Everett stepped out wearing a denim jeans and jacket, the ladies noticed that each outfit was worn with pride.
The models wore casual and career fashions and then concluded the show with a dressy or formal outfit.
After the show ended, there were a variety of door prizes presented to attending administrative assistants.
