St Jerome holds first annual 5 K Run/Walk

The St Jerome Regional School held its First Annual 5 K Run/Walk in Hometown on Saturday. The course, starting and ending at the Marian High School track field, winded its way through parts of Hometown and Barnesville. St Jerome teacher Mary Dakosty stated high appreciation for all the volunteers, the Marian High School, and the Panther Valley Running Club for making their first annual run/walk a success. In addition to door prizes, food, and other free items, prizes and awards were given to top participants in varying categories. Winners pictured, from left, are First Place Overall Male Runner Winner Kyle Smith, 18, from Summit Hill; First Place Female Walker Winner Sophia Susarchick, 10, from Tamaqua; First Place Overall Female Runner Winner Amber Carroll, 15, from Tamaqua; and First Place Male Walker Tom Lager, 39, from Jim Thorpe.
