In a two-year project the Woman's Club of Slatington, which meets at St. John's Lutheran Church, Slatington, has stitched a quilt with 20 historical scenes from the Slatington area. They are updated versions of the designs used on a quilt made in the 1980s.

It includes such buildings as the slate factory, the old high school, Main Street, Lehigh Gap, the Slatington News building and the chain bridge.

"I learned so much about Slatington doing this quilt," said Donna Gasser who coordinated the project.

After the top was completed, the quilting was done by St. John's United Church of Christ Quilters.

It is on display at the Slatington Library and will be raffled off in October.
