At about 5 p.m. Wednesday emergency responders were called to a pickup truck on fire near the entrance to Tuscarora Park Road in Tamaqua (located at the bottom of Hometown Hill). Hometown Police, Tamaqua Police, Tamaqua Ambulance, Hometown Fire Company, Hometown Fire Police, and Tamaqua's Fire Chief responded. Hometown firefighters said the truck was fully engulfed when they arrived. Witnesses said the pickup truck, which didn't have an engine, was parked there for years and was probably only used for parts. Both Police Departments are ruling this as suspicious. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Tamaqua Police Department.
