Four injured in McKeansburg crash

Four persons were injured in a three vehicle crash about 5:56 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, at the intersection of SR443 and Market St., in McKeansburg, East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville, investigated. Troopers said Kevin Raymond Rhode, 37, of Schuylkill Haven, made a left turn from Market Street onto SR443 and pulled directly into the path of a westbound 2004 Chrysler Sebring driven by Keith D. Miller Sr., 45, of Nesquehoning. Miller's car struck Rhode's 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck in the intersection. A 2002 Ford F-205 pickup truck, operated by Jonathan J. Gibas, 35, of New Philadelphia, was stopped on N. Market waiting to enter the intersection and his truck was struck by the other two after the initial impact. Troopers said Miller and his passengers, Theresa Miller, same address, and a 15-year-old female from Summit Hill, along with Gibas were all injured. Theresa Miller and the juvenile were seriously injured and flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Troopers said Rhode showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, for a blood test. A trooper qualified as a Drug Recognition Expert was also borught to the scene to evaluate Rhode. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
