Tamaqua Patrolman Michael Hobbs visited the classes at Tamaqua's Head Start Program, reading to the students and reinforcing the concept that "policemen are your friends." The children were all given the opportunity to sit in the back seat of the police cruiser, see how the emergency lights work, and listen to the siren. They were also encouraged to wave to police officers they see in public.
