Two enter guilty pleas
Two Carbon County residents, scheduled for non-jury trials last week in the county court, instead entered guilty pleas in plea bargains.
Vincent Gryzik, 45, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of simple assault for an incident on July 19, 2009, in Lansford. He was charged with assaulting Marie Ruslavage at a residence along W. Patterson St. A charge of endangering the welfare of a child was dropped in the plea agreement.
Senior Judge Richard W. Webb placed Gryzik on probation for six months and ordered he make restitution of $42.39.
Alan R. Paluch, 39, of White Haven, pleaded to one count of theft of services. He was arrested by state police at Fern Ridge with tampering with a meter belonging to PPL to get a free or reduced electrical service.
President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II placed him on probation for two and a half years and ordered he make restitution of $789.46 to PPL.
Both defendants must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervisoin fee while on probation.
