Home invasion occurs in Mahoning Township

Published April 19. 2010 05:00PM

Two individuals reportedly entered a home in the Orioles section of Mahoning Township Saturday morning while the residents were home, and stole various items including video games.

According to Chief of Police Ken Barnes of the Mahoning Township Police Department, the incident happened before 5:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Police said they were dispatched to the residence in the 1300 block of Orioles Drive and were informed that two black males entered the home, confronted the home owner, and then forcibly stole video games and antique model cars.

Police said they also attempted to steal the homeowner's cell phone.

Barnes said the two men then left the home and entered an older maroon, four-door vehicle, possibly a Buick.

There was a female waiting in the car, police said, but no description of her was available.

All three then fled the area in the car.

Police said one of the perpetrators was described as being about six-feet tall and wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

No description was given for the second man.

No one was injured during the reported incident.

East Penn Township Police assisted Mahoning Township Police.

Mahoning Township Police are following up on the report and ask anyone witnessing or having information on the alleged event to call (570) 386-2241.
