The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling on the PA Northeastern Extension (I-476) to be prepared for bi-directional tunnel closures to begin Monday morning, April 12 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The Lehigh Tunnel is located between the Lehigh Valley (Exit #56) and Mahoning Valley (Exit #74) Interchanges.Traffic will be diverted into the opposite tube during the four (4) scheduled closures and motorists traveling northbound and southbound should anticipate slow moving or stopped traffic when approaching the area.The closures are scheduled:• Northbound - Monday, Apr. 12 and Tuesday Apr. 13.• Southbound - Thursday, Apr. 15 and Monday, Apr. 19.Travel advisories will be posted on the website at
