Stubborn brush fire in Bowmanstown

Carbon County firefighters had a difficult time accessing a stubborn brush fire Thursday afternoon in Bowmanstown. The fire was first reported just after 5 p.m. on a hilltop above the Bowmanstown fire company. Fire departments from Bowmanstown, Parryville and East Penn Township along with numerous units of the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry responded, but had difficulty in locating the exact location of the blaze. Firemen had the fire under control about 6:30 p.m.
