Lehighton art exhibit will benefit student with cancer

An art exhibit featuring the works of Lehighton area residents will be held on Saturday, April 10, at the Lehighton Area Memorial Library and will benefit a local student who is battling cancer.

Brandon Steigerwalt of Mahoning Township, a student at Lehighton Area High School, organized the event, which will be held from 3:30-7 p.m. Assisting him is lilbrarian Becky Wanamaker.

Admission to the exhibit is free, but donations will be accepted for Tristan Wentz, a LAHS student battling the illness. Refreshments will be available.

Streigerwalt said many different genres of art will be displayed by artists from the area. Teachers and current and former students from the local high school will be among those displaying work.

The artists will include Steigerwalt, Dan Dagorn, Ashley Haupt, Steph Zimmerman, Dakota Hartman, Vanessa Hyska, Kate Light, Jake Reppert, Alexander Cebrosky, Miss Tanya Lilly, Mr. Michael Reenock, and maybe more.

Live music will be provided by guitatists Jeff Newman and Brendan McCullian.

Some of the artwork will be for sale at negotiable prices, some of which will go directly to Wentz to assist him in bills associated with cancer.

The artwork will be displayed indoors and outdoors.
