Seven area residents among 18 arraigned on criminal counts in Schuylkill
Seven area residents will long remember Easter Monday as they were among 18 who were arraigned Monday, April 5, in the office of District Attorney James P. Goodman at the Schuylkilll County courthouse on criminal charges filed against them. All entered pleas of not guilty and requested jury trials. They were:
Linda R. Heffelfinger, 24. of 337 E. Elm St., Tamaqua, was charged by Patrolman Thomas Duarte, Tamaqua police, with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol last Jan. 18.
Amy M. Merenda, 23, of 57 Shady Lane, Barnesville, was charged by Patrolman Brian Thompson, Rush Township police, with retail theft of 10 items from Walmart Store last Jan. 19 and misbranding of controlled substance.
Michael Cole, 33, of 201 E. Mahanoy Ave., Mahanoy City, was charged by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Rush Townbship police, with DUI on Tuscarora Road Park last New Year's Day.
Lyle Keith Mantz III, 24, of 203 W. Holland St., Summit Hill, was charged by Patrolman Thomas Duarte, Tamaqua Police, with DUI and careless driving last Dec. 23.
Maureen Erin Pickford, 45, of 524 Arlington St., Tamaqua, was charged by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Rush Township police, with DUI on Hometown Hill last Jan. 20.
Roderick Seymour, 34, of 223 Hazle St., Nuremberg, was charged by Patrolman Alfred Walsh, McAdoo police, with DUI last Dec. 23.
Candace Louise Bylinsky, 25, of 505 Rolling Mill Ave., Tamaqua, was charged by Cpl. Henry Woods, Tamaqua police, with forging 39 checks of Dolores Bylinsky and cashing them at Boyer's Food Market and Walmart Store, in Rush Twp., last December.
Shawn Francis Sukeena, 32, Minersville, was charged by Patrolman John Mohl, Pottsville Police, with criminal mischief to resident's of girlfriend, Crystal Kowalick, Elk Avenue, Pottsville, and damaging a computer valued at $2,000 and a steel door valued at $575.
Jennifer Lynn Shappell, 30, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Kyle D. Crouse, Minersville police, with DUI and careless driving last Dec. 12.
Debra Ann Zerbey, 49, Port Carbon, was charged by Trooper Robert Kluge with DUI, careless driving and restrictions on alcoholic beverages in vehicle when stopped on Mill Creek Road, Norwegian Township last Jan. 15.
William F. Smeltzer, 30, Saint Clair, was charged by Trooper John D. Powis with theft of auto parts from pickup truck of Charles Robert Watcher, Pottsville, and receiving stolen property on Sept, 17, 2008.
George Vincent Shuler, 50, Cass Township, was charged by Chief Anthony Kuklinski, Cass/Foster Townshis police, with possession of a firearm with altered numbers, posssession of a firearm not to be carried without a license, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia when stopped on Valley Road, Cass Township, last Dec. 29.
Cassandra Lee Banicky, 38, Plains, was charged by Patrolman Corey Herring, Rush Township police, with criminal conspiracy, theft of wallet belonging to Charles T. Cowan, receiving stolen property and giving a false statement to police last Jan. 3.
Bradley Deanell Boswell Jr., 34, Harrisburg, was charged by Patrolman Charles Blesse, Coaldale police, with resisting arrest, failing to properly use multiple beam road lighting equipment and driving while operating privileges were suspended when stopped on SR209 last Dec. 5.
Michael Allen Kissinger, 21, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Brian Reno, Pottsville police, with theft of personal property of Jose Rivera, W. Market St., last Jan. 22.
Larry Battle, 58, Reading, was charged by Patrolman Ryan P. Murphy, Minersville police, with possession with intent to deliver a controleld substance and possession of a controlled substance last Feb. 21.
Molly Jo Jenkins, Tower City, was charged by Patrolman Joseph J. Leskin, Saint Clair police, with theft by deception by passing 12 counterfeit $20 bills in Walmart Store to purchase jewely and small items and receive valuable currency in change
Joshua Lagle, 31, Gordon, was charged by Patrolman Martin Sterner, Saint Clair police, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia last Feb. 13.
