A Coaldale man is facing a drug count following a traffic stop.

Coaldale police said on March 7 about 10:32 p.m. Officer Robert Minnick was westbound on Water St. when a vehicle approached him with its high beams on. Minnick made a U-turn and stopped the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Timothy H. O'Brien, 20, of 272 Third St., and he appeared nervous. A check of his license revealed it was under suspension. After O'Brien was informed of why he was stopped a consent search was made of the vehicle. Found was a needle commonly used for injecting heroin and cocaine.

Police said O'Brien has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and summary offenses of driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked and use of multiple-beam road lighting equipment.
