Tamaqua bar cited by Liquor Control Board

Published October 05. 2009 02:55PM

A Tamaqua bar has been cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state Liquor Control Board.

Tiki Inc., trading as The Tiki Bar, 20 Mauch Chunk St., was cited for the following violations: sold, furnished and/or gave alcoholic beverages during a time when the restaurant liquor license was suspended; failed to post in a conspicuous place on the outside of the licensed premises, or in a window plainly visible from the outside of the premises, a notice of suspension; and failed to remove the license from display as directed by the office of an administrative law judge.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
