The Schuylkill County Tax Claims Appeals Board held a hearing Monday on assessment appeals filed by Blue Mountain School District on 30 properties located in the school district boundary.

The district claimed the properties were under-assessed.Following the hearings, the appeal board increased the market value and assessment on the properties which increased the assessed valuations by $638,917. Earlier this month, Blue Mountain appealed 30 properties and received an increase in assessment of $380,953.The appeals on 59 properties have increased the school district assessment by $1,019,770 for the 2010 tax period. Municipalities in the school district boundary will also benefit by the school district appeals in gaining tax revenue.Rulings on Monday's hearing in the Schuylkill County Courthouse included:Lee R. and Ruth R. Miller, New Tripoli, property located at 1735 Chestnut St., New Ringgold, market value increased from $62,800 to $92,960 and assessment raised from $31,400 to $46,480, an increase in assessment of $15,080.Douglas and Judith Ream, 320 Hughes St., New Ringgold, market value increased from $37,150 to $53,400 and assessment from $18,575 to $26,730, increase of $8,155 in assessment.William B. and Constance G.
