Theft of puppy being probed in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of a nine week old male Beagle puppy.

Troopers said the puppy was taken from inside its kennel located in the area of 1042 Woodland Drive, in North Manheim Township, sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9. According to a witness, two individuals were observed in the area around the kennel about 10-10:30 a.m. The witness told troopers he was unsure if the two were responsible for taking the puppy but stated that they left near a wooded area along a creek.

The dog is described as being pure bred with a distinct white streak stretching across the hip area. The two suspects were described as being young males with one wearing blue jeans and black sneakers and the other wearing black shorts and a white T-shirt. The dog is valued at $225.
