A Simon & Garfunkel tribute Sat. at the Mauch Chunk Opera House
AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle do a tribute to Simon and Garfunkel on Saturday at the Mauch Chunk Opera House.
AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle have been performing this remarkable tribute to the music of "Simon & Garfunkel" for more than a decade and their sold out shows prove the effect on their audiences is undeniable.
AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle are both accomplished finger-style guitar players and singer-songwriters originally from Bethlehem.
A chance meeting in 1991, in a local club brought these two talented artists together. A brief introduction and moments later they were blending their voices as if they had been performing together for a lifetime.
AJ's warm baritone and Jonathan's soaring tenor combined flawlessly to capture the essence and magic of "Simon & Garfunkel's" sound of the early years in Greenwich Village. "We strive to give our audiences the best possible recreation short of hearing Simon and Garfunkel themselves".
The duo has performed the Simon and Garfunkel tribute in many notable venues from coast to coast, as well as an appearance on the "Conan O'Brian show."
With a quiet stage and an acoustic guitar, A.J. and Jonathan recreate the memories of the classic hits as well as some surprising lesser known songs for the Simon & Garfunkel trivia buffs.
