Published October 29. 2009 05:00PM

The Hazleton Animal Shelter and North Shore Animal League from New York will host an animal adoption event at the Hazleton Wal-Mart Supercenter from 1 to 6 p.m., Nov. 5 and 6.

Representatives from the shelter and animal league will be at the event providing potential animal adopters with information, while raising awareness that shelter animals need homes. Dozens of cats, kittens, dogs and puppies will also be there for adoption.

North Shore Animal League is the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption center and travels around the country, partnering with area shelters to help shelter animals find permanent homes.

For more information on the event, call the shelter at (570) 454-0640.
