2 veterans organizations meet

In keeping with the spirit of cooperation with one another, two Veterans organizations met last week to award a total of five Certificates of Appreciation to various individuals.

Members from Penn Kidder VFW Post 294 Albrightsville were present to award Certificates of Appreciation to three American Legion members and one civilian during the meeting at Dolon-Jones-Martino American Legion Post 304 in Jim Thorpe.The four men received their awards for volunteering their help to the VFW in putting on their Freedom Festival at Memorial Park on August 16th of this year.The four Certificates of Appreciation from the National VFW read: "presented for meritorious and distinguished service in furthering the aims and ideals of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States."Also at the meeting, Post 304 presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Post member Francis O'Donnell, noting that he has put a lot of years in with the post doing things behind the scenes that nobody ever sees.His Certificate of Appreciation read : "for outstanding dedicated service for 58 years to Dolon-Jones-Martino Post 304".
