Empty Bowls event slated for Oct. 31

Published October 20. 2009 05:00PM

The eighth annual Empty Bowls: A Feast of Understanding will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Second Harvest Food Bank, 2045 Harvest Way, Allentown.

The Halloween-themed evening will feature an informal meal and music by Steve Brosky and his Big Lil' Band with a guest appearance by Lehigh County Executive, Don Cunningham. The event, sponsored by Bank of America and Hatfield Quality Meats, raises money and awareness for Second Harvest's fight to end hunger and also gives partygoers an idea of the day-to-day operations of the program. A fireworks display will also be held at 9 p.m.

For more information, contact Sharon Hall, development coordinator at Second Harvest, at (610) 434-0875, ext. 3307.
