Troopers said Astor L. Howell, 66, of Kresgeville, was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee and attempted to turn into a parking lot while Thomas A. Herman, 41, of Jim Thorpe, driving a 1999 Jeep Wrangler, was southbound. Troopers said the Cherokee struck the Wrangler.

Howell was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Palmerton ambulance for treatment of a moderate injury, troopers said. Herman was not injured.

Troopers cited Howell for vehicles entering or crossing a roadway.

A one vehicle accident occurred about 9:37 p.m. on Friday along SR248 at Bowmanstown. Trooper said Susan L.
