Published October 09. 2009 05:00PM

The Carbon Career & Technical Institute Adult Education Center will offer a free personal and career development program for people in transition, including single parents, pregnant women, homemakers, dislocated workers, and those interested in non-traditional occupations.

The New Choices Career Development program is a five-week series designed for those who are interested in exploring career options, returning to school, looking for a new job or entering the workforce.

Participants will identify their strengths, skills, and interests to assist them in selecting a career path. This will be accomplished through individual and group activities, guest speakers, field trips, tours of educational facilities, and a variety of career assessments. Hands-on computer training is available as needed.

Classes will begin on Oct. 20 and run through Nov. 19 at PathStone Head Start located at 150 W. Phillips Street in Coaldale. The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

For more information, or to register for this class, please contact Cheryl Donovan-Nieves at (570) 325-4140, ext. 203 or e-mail
