Hometown rear end crash

Several people escaped serious injury Sunday when involved in a rear end collision along State Route 54 in Hometown, Rush Township. The crash occurred just before noon Sunday just west of State Route 309. One witness at the scene told the Times News an elderly gentleman driving west had either slowed down or stopped in an attempt to make a turn when he was struck in the rear by a car operated by a young male. The injuries, if any, appeared to be minor. Responding to the scene were the Tamaqua ambulance and Hometown fire company.
