It was crystal clear for the first day of October, when the Beltzville Boating Association unveiled a new bench installed by park workers, in memory of charter member Jackson Shellhammer, who passed away in 2007.
The benches at the Pine Run boat launch are very popular with visitors in the summertime, and the new one will offer prime seating near the dock.
Dan Petrecca, BBA President, removed the flag which covered the cast brass plaque, and spoke about Jackson's efforts on behalf of the Association over the years.
Present for the ceremony were Beltzville State Park Manager Tony Willoughby, and BBA members Dan and Monica Petrecca, Joe Karpinski, Joe Farrell, and Russ Jeffries. Trevor Shellhammer, son of Jackson Shellhammer, was present at the dedication.
