Carbon business cited by PLCB

Published October 05. 2009 02:55PM

A Carbon County business has been cited by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board's Wilkes-Barre enforcement office.

Gemstar Enterprises Inc., trading as Rubys Saloon, 298 Bridge St., Lehighton, was cited for selling alcoholic beverages after the hotel liquor license expired on Aug. 31, and had not been renewed/or validated.

This charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.

In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
