Published November 16. 2009 05:00PM

On Saturday, December 5th, the Lehighton American Legion Post 314 and the Lehighton Band will again join forces to present a Christmas dinner and concert of Christmas music at the Legion Home in Lehighton.

The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. The concert will follow at approximately 7 p.m. and will feature the music of the season.

Included on the program will be several medleys of Christmas carols and several medleys of the ever-popular secular holiday songs.

Joseph Plechavy III wll be featured in a vocal melody, "Carol Of The Candle" and the audience will have a chance to get in the act as the band plays "Christmas Pop Sing-Along."

As usual, the concert will end with Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" although in a slightly different style than usual. In this arrangement, "White Christmas" is paired with Berlin's "Happy Holiday" in a slightly up-beat version.

Tickets can be purchased from any member of the Lehighton Band, at Carbon County Music and More on South First Street, Lehighton, or by calling (610)377-2737.

Tickets must be ordered by November 25th. This annual event is drawing a larger crowd.
