Rush police make DUI, retail arrests

Rush Township police have made a number of arrests for driving under the influence (DUI), theft, retail theft and a public disturbance.

On Nov. 6 at 12:24 p.m., Ryan Navitsky, 31, of Hometown, was traveling south on Marian Ave. when he lost control of his 2001 Nissan Xterra, striking an embankment. Navitsky was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Navitsky was found to have amphetamines on his person and paraphernaliaOn Nov. 6 at 3:40 a.m. township police found Rose Marie Boettger, 48, of Tamaqua, in the front yard of 90 Frankford Ave., Hometown, naked and intoxicated, and causing a disturbance. Boettger is facing charges.On Nov. 4 at 11 p.m. a 15- year-old female from Summit Hill was charged with retail theft for stealing $53.44 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart.On Oct. 28 at 8 p.m., Shawn E Flaim Jr., of Tamaqua, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police responded to a vehicle being hung up on the railroad tracks off of SR54. Police found a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe inside the vehicle.Township police are investigating a theft of a 22-inch Vizio LCD TV was taken from Room 222 at the Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The TV was still in the box, said police.
